Abstracts/Etc: 요약Historically, the art and the music have had similar infrastructure of creation in contrast with their different form of representation. Relationship between the two especially attracted analyists of nineteenth century. That is, three main elements of music - rhythm, melody and harmony - are frequently compared to those of the design, which are theme, story and the unification. Similarly, in Korea, there has been many trials of relating auditive element and visual representation or visualizing the poetry since 1980. In this paper, we tried to see the relationship between the design and the music would agree in the classroom situation as theorists has insisted. We give three different well known pieces of music to three same-sized groups of students who take the design classes and get their feelings by the survey. And then let the students produce their works by what they feel from the given music, which might give an idea to us how these two forms of the art relate each other. The result shows that three representative products by students are, in large part, consistent with student group's most frequent feelings of the given auditory stimuli. Therefore, we might insist that this type of trial - producing design from the theme of auditory element - in the classroom can help developing student's ability of representing the given theme in design.
